Tyre Replacement in the UAE: When You Need It and What It Costs

How to check your tyres

• Tread: the legal minimum is 1.6 mm, but grip drops well before that. Below 3 mm, plan a change.
• Age: look for the four-digit DOT code on the sidewall. Tyres older than five years harden and crack in the heat, whatever the tread.
• Damage: bulges, cuts or cracks on the sidewall mean the tyre is finished.
• Pressure: check monthly, when the tyres are cold.
